The second-generation Military 2 enhances the venerable Military model with the addition of a high-strength Compression Lock mechanism and the versatility of a four-position pocket clip. This expression of it raises the bar even higher with a blade crafted from Spyderco’s proprietary CPM SPY27 steel. Starting with the time-tested alloy formula of VG-10 stainless steel, SPY27 increases the volumes of carbon, molybdenum, and vanadium and adds niobium and nitrogen. Crucible Industries’ state-of-the-art particle metallurgy manufacturing process then ensures a uniform of these alloys throughout the steel. The result is an extremely homogenous microstructure that maximizes the steel’s edge holding, toughness, and corrosion resistance. To further distinguish this knife as a member of Spyderco’s elite SPY27 family, its handle features peel-ply-textured G-10 scales in a signature cobalt-blue color.
